Okay, it has been a long wait, BUT, I have been promised that the solar system will be installed on Tuesday, October 29.
The Lord be praised!
So Ms. Audrey and I will be moved in on Wednesday or Thursday, Lord willing. So much of our stuff is over there already that it seems like home, especially when I sleep there and get up and prepare breakfast there.
TT, I had a gas leak in that nice copper line. So yesterday I started digging up the joints. I found an obvious energetic leak on the first one. I fixed it. But I dug up the other two as well and squirted them with soap and they were tight. Also I found a tiny leak where the gas hose fits to the pipe on the range. I fixed that also. So I left the gas on overnight. We took the wood shop owner and his son over today to measure up for all those expensive interior wooden doors and a hand railing up the stairs. I checked the gas guage on the tank and it was EXACTLY where I left it yesterday. I was overjoyed and praised the Lord.
Earlier in the week the well driller pumped the mud out of the bottom two meters of the well. I installed and connected an in line jumbo filter and so now we have clean water going to the tinaco on the roof. I cleaned and the mud out of the bottom of the tinaco (tank).
We have invested a bundle on LED light bulbs. Indivual bulbs use anywhere from three to nine watts and most put out from forty to seventy watts worth of light. That way our battery storage for the nights will work very well and last maybe a couple of years longer.

Deercop,
I enjoyed the joke. I just want to say that old Sol has been working against me all my life. See, I had bright red hair, blue eyes and see through skin. I burned horribly and was miserable, but just couldn't stay out of the sun. I liked playing with the other kids in the summer in Pennsylvania.
BUUUTTTTT...Old Sol will be working for me now. Hope he likes it.

Okay, the system has been installed but the charger/regulator does not work. So they took it along and will come back on Monday.

The twenty batteries were connected in groups of four in a series hook up. Then they were grouped again to the inverter.

Hey Leon;
I recently learned that a fellow I went to high school with, back in the '60's, has retired to San Juan Casalo, somewhere in that Lake Chapala area.
I understand, though, that it is a huge lake some 70 miles long and 20 wide.
BTW, How is the fishing there?

Really? Wow! San Juan Cosala is only ten kilometers from where we have been living for these past five years. Small world, huh? Is he living in the Racket Club? That is an american gated community, very posh. Or there are other places less expensive.
Now when we move to our house we will be about twenty five kilometers away

Yes, the Racket Club.
I'm not in direct contact with him. I read his post on our high school website. He says there are more than 20,000 Americans who have retired to that area, mostly Texans.

Yes, there are a bunch of them.
Today I was putting in the washstand in the powder room downstairs. I thought I had it finished and turned on the water. A joint in the plastic drain leaked so I took the bowl off the stand and placed it upside down on the smooth wood table top in the dining room and pushed it up against the spigot group. I set up my port o bench so I could put it right side up with the drain down through between the sides so I could pour water in to see why it leaked. I turned around in time to see the bowl slide off the table and shatter in a thousand pieces on the tile floor. I guess i'm a real plumber now. When it was just about clieaned up off the floor I thought that I should have taken a pic of the mess.

The new bowl is mounted, as is the mirror. The young men installed my internet antenna and router yesterday. It works, hee, hee.
I have been promised that the new regulator/charger will be installed monday. One of these times they will get it right.

While waiting for electricity I have entertained myself by doing some things I thought I would have to do after we moved in. One of them is the enclosure for the water heater for the kitchen sink.

I want to praise the Lord! The solar company called and told us they had the part we needed and would be here in an hour to install it. They came and the system is now up and running. So I am going to show you a pic or two of light fixtures lit up in the night.
As I said: PRAISE THE LORD!
