Anyone out there know where a person might find an over sized silk or similar weight material scarf in blaze orange? Need something to wrap around the hat for the coming deer season. Bought one a couple of years back, just can't remember where I found them and who gave me the tip on who was selling them.

You might try a couple of phonecalls to local sewing or fabric stores, like JoAnn Fabrics, and see if they have any cotton or linen in blaze orange. I've seen plenty of camo pattern cloth, but never looked for orange. If they've got it, a whole yard probably wouldn't run you more than $5 or so.

Axe Might just go buy a Dayglo Orange knit type watch cap like they have in most Wally Worlds/Cabelas/L.L.Bean, and pull it down on the crown of your hat,sew a couple of stitches around where the swet band is to keep it in place and your golden.See that done before and it works real good.End of the season cut it loose and again your golden. The cap will streach to fit any size head.OH YEA!!!!!

I have some hunter orange Polar Fleece that I believe came from JoAnn's fabric store. I cut a strip and wrapped it around my brimmed hat as a very wide hat band. I had it pinned on. It didn't like to stay there.

Walking Crow's idea seems a good alternative.

Dharma Trading Company has large silk scarfs, but they are all white and you have to dye your own if you want a different color. They also have dyes, but you'd have to call on "Hunter Orange." The orange I saw seemed more of a pumpkin orange on Dharms's page. They also sell linen and wool.
