After slow going I managed to find a heavy .54 1" barrel & inlet & fit it to the stock. Surprisingly I had to remove a fair amount of wood to get it to fit. The stock finish isn't complete but will still look basically like the photo when it is. I used a combo of metal dissolved in weak acid followed by shoe polish. Yep, shoe polish. Following up with True Oil currently.
Thought about converting it to flint but the drum came out easily and A percussion lock might be cheaper and certainly easier for me to accomplish. I've been giving the barrel finish some thought. With the stock being a chocolate brown, I might try some sort of vinegar/combo for a lighter finish. Staley, it won't compare to yours but I was thinking "working gun" anyway. Actually, it doesn't look too "screwed up" like my usual attempts.

Hanshi, If you cn't get photos on the list you might try loading them up onto ' www.photobucket.com ' and add a link to them. Most of the lists require pics to be uploaded onto the web for source anyway so opening a photo account would be a good idea. It's free & anyone can look at your pics anytime... DOC
Okay! Here's a picture of the stock. it looks darker than it really is (actually chocolate brown). Ready to start on the barrel soon. Only thing I think I need to get is going to be a lock. Hope I got the right picture.
