Ummm...Thats a lot of typing about a squirrel.
You gotta get out more.
And I think most of us here have had enough "legislation" for a lifetime...and its only been a year.

Inever saw a black squirrel until about 10 years ago and that was about 40 miles SW of Kansas City. I grew up and still live in the Ozarks and have heard several stories of people killing black squirrels but I've never seen on here.

The ones I saw in Kansas were definitely color phases of the fox or red squirrel. Much, much to big to be grays. The guy who owned the property, his wife is a life long friend of my wife, shot everything but the black squirrels and I saw at least 10 different black squirrels while we were visiting.

I just had to bring this up again so forgive me this one time.

Last night on Animal Planet there was one of those 1-7 programs about albino animals. Well, they also showed a jet black "Gray squirrel" and commented on how it over produced melanin as opposed to albino squirrels which produce none. I just found it interesting, that's all.

I was visiting my Mother in SW Iowa, yesterday (in Walnut, IA) and saw completely black squirrels playing in the street
