well some of may have heard that yepper I have come down with the "C". some rare form of throat cancer up in the adnoid region at the top back of my throat. Right directly I'll be starting chemo n radiation for 7 weeks straight 5 days a week. This is not gonna be one of my more enjoyable hunting n holidays season. The doc's give me a very high rating of beating this thing flat out n I ain't of a mind to let some little crazed cells in my own body kick my butt, at least not without one heck of a fight first. I've had my butt whipped in the past but I've always gone down swinging but this ain't gonna be a fight I'm gonna lose. Don't need no sympathy ner tears or nothing like that but if yer of the prayen sort I sure wouldn't mind a word or two in my behalf towards the great Creator. I'ts been one hell of a ride for near 56 years n I ain't done yet. Sooo if my posts get a little far between in the next month or so its most like cause I'm feelen a bit poorly, but I will be lurken in the shadows keepen an eye on all you renagade retrobates, consarned raggedyest bunch a great people ever to type a thought on screen. Ya all take care n be well remember I'm still watchen ya!!!!!!!!! YAAAHOOOOOOOOO lemme at em coach I'm gonna kick this cancers buttt!!!!!!!

You've got my prayers, Birdman! I get to deal with skin cancer once in a while, but it's not too serious yet. Hang in there!

Give 'em hell, Birdman. You got my prayers too.

If'n that chemo has the same effect on you that it does on most, we'll have to change your name to Baldman.

Hang in there, Senor. I'm convinced that maintaining a positive attitude is a big chunk of that battle and you've already got it. Hang on to it and make plans for doing something good for yourself when you're done with all this hoo-haw. It'll give you something to focus on when the trail underfoot gets rockier and steeper.

HEY BIRDMAN! ASK your doctor, ifin you're getting the medicine, then while ya do is it OK to start smoking? You and the insurance be payin' all that money, why not get an extra benefit? Hey you said no tears and no sympathy so I figured a really bad joke would be OK. Watch the doctor's reaction when you ask him with a straight face!

Gabi got through some pretty bad C herself, and she had a drawing of a "zipper-pull" tatoo'd at one end of her surgery scar. I guess they won't leave a visible scar with you though. In fact Ms. Gabi says "Scars are tatoos with better stories".

Hang in there, and remember, adenoids is like toncils <sp?> and you get ice cream when you're done! Though I suggest you shy away from the types with hard bits like rocky road, pistachio, chunky chocolate chip, and such.

Wow Birdman..
Sorry to hear about the cancer, but sounds like they caught it in time.
It's times like this I can appreciate our living in the 21st century rather than the 18th!
Prayers are on the way.

Hang in there, Birdman! If you can keep up that attitude, you've already beaten it. Good luck.
