Sure has been quiet around here. What's everyone doing?
I've had a busy spring, going on two or three day trips every weekend though March and April. I haven't had time to get out in the woods, except once, for spring turkey. Didn't see a thing.
Thunderstorms and lots of rain here. We are under a tornado warning right now. At least that spring blizzard up north missed us.
I went up to Knoxville yesterday to attend the annual Tennessee/Kentucky Rifle Show. The emphasis is on TN made long rifles, but there are also contemporary rifles, pistols, shot bags, powder horns, knives, etc. Nice show. I couldn't quite make a deal on a nice left-handed .54 cal. flintlock Lancaster style rifle.
I like southern banded style powder horns. Got all the makings now to build my own - when I get the time.
Hopefully, things will slow down for me by next month. Then, I hope to put in a lot of time fishing. My grandson has already been catching fish by the score.

Well sir, I made the move into the big city to be closer to loved ones and health care, which pulled me away from the prime woods areas I love so much. Currently looking around to see if there is an active ML club in the area. Getting ready for camping and costal fishing season with my girlfriend and soon will pull the boats out of storage. Finished up fully my GPR flint to cap conversion (and back again easily) this past winter, and working on plans for a fall traditional hunt with my brother and nephew.
Tis about all from up here.

With late winter snow storms the end of February and most of March, and with a total snow depth of 42 inches in the horse yard, I had just about given up hope of Spring ever arriving.

Then, when clearing the snow load off the hay barn and portable carports used to store hay, I was in one of the carports shaking the snow off. A creaking sound alerted me that all was not right. I quickly exited the structure, got about 6 feet out and with a loud "swoosh", down came the carport tent! Needless to say I was both happy I wasn't caught in the collapse, but at the same time p*%&#$ off that the structure was going to be a total loss of bent pipe frame.

This snowfall set a record for the most depth in one storm since 1895 here in the Bitterroot. Now the clean up begins with the approach of good weather. Suppose to get up to 68*f tomorrow, YEAAAAAA!

Regards, xfox

Well, I haven't been feeling well at all for several weeks now. Still got a couple of physician appointments to go; maybe something will get figured out. Beautiful day today but I just didn't feel like getting out of the house to shoot! Blood test says I'm just fine. That makes me a very healthy person to be in the shape I'm in.

Boartooth, considering that it's been raining most days, "D" isn't a bad idea. I've taken it before but am currently out. Also, I think spring is resisting being coaxed out.

Today I attended the Smokie Mountain Highland Games and Scottish festival in Maryville, TN. Enjoyed it, but a few of the more strenuous activities had to be cancelled due to the 90*F heat.
I never did see a turkey this past spring season. Been fishing a little, but not much luck there either. Just small stuff.
Going to a ukulele festival tomorrow. Wife plays. I don't.
