This one is just as good as any, Welcome to you Trail!
This is a real good forum, guys here are helpful and aren't out
there to ridicule and insult like you find on some other black powder sites. You can get a lot of good advice here. Tell us what type of gun you shoot and what time periods you like the most and are interested in. It looks like you live in place with a lot of history, and that is great.
Well, I'm just ramblin on here... Welcome again!

Trail: this one works or you can go over to "tall tales", that way you can lie like the rest of us. (that's were most introduce themselves but I don't think it's a rule) Welcome to the fire!

I started in the re enacting thing back in the mid 70s right after I got out of the service.
Living in NJ at the time there were a few folks doing F&I and Colonial Militia so thats what I did.
I came out here in 1982. Everyone was into the fur trade so I was a bit left out. Hooked up with the Discovery Corps out of Omaha in 83.
Some of those fellows interested in F7I so we kinda formed a loose group.
Since then have done Lewis & Clark. War of 1812(militia)and at Ft Atkinson as a market hunter then an artillary man.But F&I have always been my main interest.
As to guns I've collected a room full. From a much moded Bess to 3 band Enfield. But my go to gun is an English fowler made for me by Jack Garner.

Welcome Trail, glad you're at the fire. That fowler you have by Garner sounds interesting. Tell us about her - how is she fitted out as far as hardware/guage/favorite loads?

Keep looking up! (He's coming back)

Welcome, Trail. We've probably run into each other a time or two. I'm a member of Discovery Corps and I was the post carpenter and a Private of Infantry at Ft Atkinson for a while.

TRAIL!!! Good to hear you're still above the dirt! I'm back into the Discovery Corps. In fact, I must've dozed off at the last meeting. When I woke up, I was Vice President! I still see Dean, Dave and occasionally Tim at D.C. events. Dean says that Wade is not only back, the doctors got his meds straightened out and he's back to his old, ornery self! Terese has quit her job at the hospital and found a new one so, maybe she won't be working every weekend and we may run into each other someday. Until then, Cheerio!!

Snakebite.
It has a 42" full round barrel (browned) A round face Enlish lock, browned iron furniture.
.62 cal. Walnut stock.
Likes 70 grns of 2F and a patched round ball. With an over powder wad.Usually just a patch rammed down on top. Shot is 80 grns 2F with 1oz of shot. Usually 6 or 5. Two felt wads and a card over shot wad.In a pinch a pre loaded paper wrapped cartridge.
Pottsie, I saw Dean,Rich and the Tinman at Living History Fair up here about two years ago.But other than that no one. Good news about Wade. I will have to get down there next year.
See what happens when you snooze!!! Next you will be running the drill parades for them.
Glad to here the COD is still running.
The SD chapter folded when the paid gigs stopped. Glad I had left them by that time.
Have your good lady bang Tam an email.
