That confirms what I did! My shoe packs were like that in the toe but I didn't fold them down at the top. But with four layers of woolrich coat cloth on the bottom of the bootie and three for the sides, they really kept my feet warm. I never had a pair of modern boots that worked as well. I did get snickered at for wearing them at some places. Made me look like bigbird. But I didn't care, my feet were warm.

very nice. i recently wrapped around my moccasins up to the knee with wool blanket and buckskin for more cushion and cover.
