WILDERNESS ROAD MUZZLE LOADERS
Invite you to their range in Wythe County, Virginia. Our 2016 Fall Grocery Shoot will be held the weekend of September 10 & 11, 2016 .
The shoot will be for front-loading muzzle-loading firearms only; no in-line actions. Shooting position will be off-hand (standing) position. The muzzle-loaded (MZLD) projectile will be a round lead ball (slug-type bullets may be used in the Civil War Musket Shoot). The gun sights will be open metallic – no peeps, shaders, or hoods. Smoothbore guns will follow NMLRA rules. Pistols – one hand hold – cap and ball revolvers can compete in this class. We will also offer a black powder cartridge (BPCR) offhand match. Our shooting bench is covered (you can shoot in the rain) so we strongly recommend hearing protection.
We will have plenty of groceries for the best shooters of the weekend. We will have several MZLD open-class matches - shooting paper targets for record @ 25, 50, 75, & 100 yds. We will have Men’s, Women’s, and Junior’s* (under 16) aggregate matches – combining the best scores of the competitor’s 25, 50, 75, and 100 yds “agg “targets. We will also have MZLD pistol, smoothbore, and Civil War Musket matches. A MZLD Woods Walk and Novelty Shoot will be available for you non-paper shooters. BPCR will use metal sights (no scopes)- shooting a lead bullet with no gas check (a 10 shot score) @ 100 yds off-hand . Knife & Hawk ($) will be available.
