At our Barren Fork shoot Saturday, a friend of mine brought his 10 year old grandson along. The boy handled himself on the range like he had been doing this for many years. He was shooting a youth sized, short barreled, .50 cal. rifle. Being the only youth he competed against the men. All his scores were good but he won top honors with his 100 yard, offhand big-bull target. Very impressive.

I find it easier to teach/instruct someone who has never do something before.Like shooting a bow or firearm. They have no bad habit you have to UNteach/instruct.Just be careful to teach it correctly the first time.

It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brushfires in the peoples mind.

For the record, a month earlier, at our rendezvous, he split the ball on the axe. He was using a .32 cal. and had never even seen the event before. I think we have a 'comer' here.

D---M GOOD SHOOTING 100 YDS OFF-HAND THIS IS WHAT I LIKE TO SEE OUR YOUTH GETTING INVOLVED I BELIEVE US OLD TIMERS HAVE AN OBLIGATION TO TEACH OUR YOUTH BECAUSE WE'RE GETTING OLDER AND WHO IS GOING TO CONTINUE THE SPORT IF WE DON'T TEACH THEM
