Hi Guys and gals.

I have been making a concerted effort to spark conversation and interest in and from our guests, current and former members. Although I very much enjoy discussions with the few that are participating here, we need to find a way to get and keep participating members.

I recently returned to this forum from a long hiatus because it formally was one of the best forums around for friendly learning, conversation and entertainment from a pool of very knowledgeable folks. I am hoping we can return to this reputation.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Looking for interested parties, DanL

Good luck.
This was, and still is my favorite site. I have tried some others but didn't stick around there for various reasons.
I've sure tried to spark some interest here by putting out various topics and stories. But, only the same few respond.
If we are getting views, but few or no responses, I just don't know what the problem is.

This trend of very little traffic/posting is occurring on three other sites I frequent; I don't get it either.

I think the more subjects one mentions or questions on a board eventually more responses will be made. Waddaya wanna talk about?

Good morning Kelly. I see you have been a member for a few years. I have been an active member in the past and life got in the way for several years. Now I am back visiting this site and enjoying rekindling some old friendships and meeting some folks that I did not know before. Hopefully, more folks will start to participate and share some experiences or teach all of us some new stuff.

Enjoying this site, DanL

Well DanL, I haven't been the most prolific member here. I'm trying to think of something that might jar someone into responding. We need new topics to expound on. Anyway have a good day because I am.

I’ve been a member for awhile as well. This was, and still is, my favourite site, but the loss of some key members seemed to just deflate the interest here. I do stop in periodically, and wish things would improve. Dan mentioned ol’Fiddlesticks in another site and I flashed instantly back. So, I will visit and contribute more as well going forward.
Take care all.

I try to drop in 2 or 3 times a week and post even when I really have nothing to say at all. Another site I've been on quite a few years is dying on the vine. I'm a moderator there but due to illness we've been without a leader for near a couple of years. Plus several of the few "active" members rarely post much more than once a week or even much longer than that. One member posts virtually every day and I post something several times a week. Only two sites I'm on are actually busy, quite busy in fact. One more is fairly busy but the rest can go nearly a week without a post from anyone but myself and the other member I mentioned. At least one went kaploomp years ago and I fear that will happen to the other one I mentioned. Seems to almost be a trend nowadays.

I think that a lot of the loss of interest is people going to the social media sites. Tradrag went down because everyone went over to Facebook, or so I've been told. On top of that, we see the same topics over and over, albeit in different disguises and folks just don't want to cover them again.
I have a couple of sites I go to, see Hanshi on them also, but when people stop being civil in their replies and posts, I just walk away from that forum.
