I had this rifle built years & years ago. L. Lancaster style X 38" X GM "B" wgt X .40. I recently sent the barrel (pitted bore) off to Bobby Hoyt for re-bore to .45. Got it back several weeks ago and what a fantastic job! Radius rifling X 1-56" with no-corner grooves that are much wider than the lands. Was an 8 lb 1 oz .40. Now a 7 lb 11 oz .45. It balanced like a dream in .40 and still does in .45. *Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.*

I am waiting on my barrel. I sent it to Mr. Hoyt to rebore from 24 to 20 gauge. Should have it back any day now.

You'll definitely get back a lighter barrel. *Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.*

I got my barrel bag and it is lighter! I had to sand it down and refinish. The heat needed to replace the front sight causes a lot of rust. I made myself a new ramrod for it today.

The rust should be an easy fix. And the barrel itself will be a joy! *Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.*

Tell you what, Hanshi, I wish I had your rifle and you had a feather up your nose - then we'd both bee tickled! ~Kees~

Late on the uptake, Kees, but only if the feathered end goes in first. *Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.*
