Alan has no website and doesn't publicly lists his email but here's his contact info from the CLA site.....
Contact Alan Longmire at:

Alan, a good friend, is pretty back logged last time we talked so as an alternative I would suggest Stuart Willis, www.swillisforge.com. His axes and tomahawks are top notch and his prices are VERY reasonable.....hew ill be glad to work with you to make what you want. Tell him I sent ya'

Anvil1231 and GreyWolf,

As I am a pretty new guy to this sport overall.
I have never seen a spike hawk before going to Stuart Willis's site. In retrospect, it makes perfect sense, but I had never seen one before. So, what do we know about the history of these hawks? Jamestown - Pilgrims - French - English - Spanish???

Howdy Tin Type-
Spike hawks are a variation of the late medieval war ax - the spike on the war axe punched through the plate armor.
Spike hawks come in dozens of variations and were often used as boarding axes. For the latter use they often had the spike hooked to act as a grappling tool.
Surviving examples date from the Spanish in America as well as those "late comers" Wink the English and French.
Like most tomahawks they were designed primarily as weapons and not general purpose tools.

That link won't work. The correct URL is:

I am not in the market. But, have seen that site before and agree, his work looks fine. Hard to say what a custom piece is worth. I recoil at a $150.00 small belt axe. But, then I recall that I make some small lathe turned items and they sell in that price range. Who is to say what 'worth' is?
