Loyalist DaveKnife Bayonets
Hey folks, while trying to decipher and sleuth-out what kind of muskets Maryland had prior to the F&I, and then what kind were the 1000 new muskets they bought at the beginning of the F&I....
Reading some stuff by Dr. DeWitt Bailey PhD...it appears that the British contracted out decades before the F&I for muskets, and they were made in Liege, Belgium, and some of these had
blade bayonets.
Further, they ended up in South Carolina for the use of the colony during the F&I.
Now, NOT
plug bayonets...but socket style with a blade instead of the more common, triangular blades seen on repro muskets today.
Just thought I'd share....
