FYI..If you check out any theatrical supply place (some found online, too), they sell canvas in much wider widths than fabric stores. I have a 7x7 canvas tarp that I use for a diamond tent, lean-to, a bedroll cover, etc. Without a center seam, it is lighter and packs smaller.

BEFORE you use that stuff, even if you intend to Waterseal it..., wash it in hot water and dry it in high heat, two to three times, to tighten up the weave. Holes between the warp and weft are holes for water too!. And trust me, having put myself through university by working as a stage hand, even if they tell you the canvas is pre-shrunk..., it aint. (If you ever get back stage, and see a bunch of scenery flats twisted into odd shapes, it's from using unshrunk canvas, and water based scenery paint.)
