When I was in school we had an excerise
to explain life in the fewest words.
Many classmates wrote just one word
replies, GREAT!, Fantastic, wonderful,
and some not so nice. I won the competition
with my, FOUR BASICS OF LIFE. Those are:
fed - bed - paid - laid.
Everything else is just icing on the cake.

Can't argue with that list.

Of course, depending on your own circumstances (needs) at the time, the order of importance would change.

Unless you're a monk then it's:

Prayer - Bread - Bed - Beer

I am not, however, taking holy orders

When my son was in high school, he had a similar assignment. His response was "Dad's sourdough waffles". Made me all warm and fuzzy.
