Trail; How could a cleaning jag get stuck in it? The flue is .19" in diameter, even a .22 cleaning jag wouldn't fit in it. I know because I tried to use one.
I ended up pushing an 8X32 screw into the breech and filing the scrw head till it would go into the flue. That's how I knwo it was .19" in diameter on my rifle. I used a 2" long 8x32 screw with the head filed flat and Q-tips taped to it to clean that flue. That was the only way I could get it clean. Now that I have mine bored out to .31, I can get a breech brush into it and really scrub it. I can either continue to use the Q-tip treatment or bush patches down the bore and into the chamber and the retrieve them with the patch puller. Either method works, though slow and teadious. Load fast and aim slow. |

White Finger . You make some good points on the cleaning procedure. As to why mine grabed jags I have no idea.I could run a bare ram rod down no problem. Put even a .30 cal jag on and it would hang up.I was using a slotted copper jag with soft linen patches.I tried using tow but that didn't seem to make much differant.
Now mind you it did not hang up every time. But enough to make it nerve wracking at times. I basically used the same screw set up. But instead of a Q tip, I wound coarse linen fiber onto the threads and used it as an abrader. Shoot low, they may be crawling. |

Trail; obviously Pederoli has used different sized flues over the course of making these rifles. I look at it this way; if it hangs up once, it was too darm often.
