Last month I had the opportunity to celebrate my 60th birthday by shooting a four-bore double rifle! 26lb rifle, 2000gr bullet and a LOT! of smokeless powder. 1700fps MV.

Some things must be experienced to be believed.

One at your age needs be aware of old, brittle bones. Don't forget you have to take your hands OFF your walker to shoot. Tsk, tsk...

Seriousness aside, you've hit a milestone and should celebrate. May you have many more and report to us what it's like to shoot that cannon AT 87!

Happy birthday

thanks all, for the birthday congrats, and survival as well. I am going to step it up in the spring, a true two-bore caplock ML rifle.
Those of you who know Colin Stolzer have seen the ongoing build at his website. He's not interested (yet) in building me a flinter that big.

Wayback, you are within 100 miles of the four-bore double. They guy is in Cartersville, Illinois. Down around Carbondale.

Mike, news travels slowly here in the Idaho Territory.

Then, the punchline: I fell off a ladder last Saturday and broke three ribs! What a letdown!

Rich, Not too slowly I hope. Will you be at the Primitive down by Orofino in June of 2010? Actually it's closer to Kamiah. I'm planning on bein' at that doin's. Hey, we could drink to our longevity...! Shoot sharp, Mike
