hey guys, another question fer ya. just finished a pair of snow pack moccasins via Mark Baker DVD, was wondering, since I don't have real bear grease available, what is a good substitute?

Snow Seal from Acadamy! Smear it THICK all over then set Mocs by/in the sove with door open till the Sow Seal absorbs,Repeat process

Dave i use a mixture of neetsfoot oil an beeswax with a little bear oil (optional) on my snow packs and it works real well all i do is mix 60% neets oil to 40% beeswax i melt it in a 4 inch tin let it cool throw in my pack where it there when i need it try it i think you well like it

if you use neetsfoot oil make shur it is 100% if its compound it will eat linen tread

I use snow seal, it works great. A similar product to that would be Fiebrings leather conditioner. Mosly bees wax and other "stuff"

That is good to know about neetsfoot compound eating up linen thread. I will be sure to watch out for that.

Oneblanket sorry i forgot to put it in my other reply you are so right only pure neetsfoot oil should be used i buy mine at a horse tack shop

Also, make sure that none of the products used for sealing have a petroleum product listed. This is not good for stitching or the leather.
