Made a new patch knife from a straight razor. Walnut handle with brass bolster, sealed with butcher block wax (beeswax and carnauba). Picture isn't tilted, the blade angles from the handle to allow using a finger or thumb along the spine for control and safety. Meant to be used with a draw stroke (Scandi style) to keep fingers from the sharp end and give better control also allows for the occasional shave in the field if the mood hits you. Smiler Now just have to make a sheath.

Mighty fine idee. Hmmm . . . been wondering what to do with an old straight razor and some antlers I've had laying around here . . . for years . . . and years . . .
