Hey y'all... I'm going to want some help or at least ideas on something. I have a wonderful go-to horn (SW Virginia banded screw-top) that goes with my SW Virginia rifle built by Mark Elliott (gun #14 if you go to his site)and a bag somewhat of the very late 1700's early 1800's.

I mentioned that a friend offered me a Chief's Grade Trade Gun that he had started, and I made an early hunting bag out of some nice buffalo that I had laying around. In looking for a horn to complete the 'ensemble' I went back to Ron Vail's site (where I always go to drool over powder horns) and after speaking to him over the phone (a wonderful gentleman) I have one of his horns coming my way.

I'll post pics of old and new and what I'd like to get some advice on is that I have lots of strapping, from wool, to cotton to old hemp that could be used with Ron's horn. I also have some colors (like dark green), and I'd like to get some input on a strap for the horn.

Anyway, hang on and get ready to offer me your likes and dislikes... should have the new horn by the end of the week or the weekend.
