I have not seen a photo of one of that style, most hat suppliers sell blanks which can be trimmed and shappet to whatever you desire, do you have any pics you could share of this particular hat.

I'm not sure which hat you want, but Clearwater Hats make excellent hats.

Check out the period of your choice and be sure to hit all the pages in that category.

Idaho Sharpshooter - Be aware that the Clearwater hats are top quality, with prices to match! Each seems to be hand crafted to a pattern you create, so they should fit perfectly. Also, be aware that their "low crown" hat has a VERY low crown, so if you got a "pointy head" you may have problems - best to measure that just to be sure.

When you say "like Mark Baker wears" are you thinking of the one in his full-body, standing pose in the stream channel? That is the cover of one of the "Pilgrim" books. That seems to be a fairly common style that is available at numerous traders. I got one in brown (harder to find) from Crazy Crow at modest cost. Needed to be trimmed and a hat band and sweat band added. Nice heavy material which seems like it will hold up well - also, fairly waterproof.

I believe I have a cocked Longhunter and a non-cocked Bridger. You can't tell the hats apart sitting side by side unless you have a ruler (and can recognized a cocked hat). I believe the Bridger has a deeper crown. Both fit me fine, so I must accommodate a low crown with a non-pointed head. You might want to try a Bridger. Talk to the Bunton's about that (they are the owners).
